How Custom Orthotics Make for Happy Feet

From pain reduction to performance enhancement, show your feet some love with orthotics inserted into your shoes to support, align, prevent and/or accommodate foot abnormalities and improve how the foot functions. Like eye glasses for your feet! We design custom orthotics to correct your foot function, alleviate pain, and help you stay active!

As Canadian Certified Pedorthists we are your first step to happy, healthy feet. We

are experts in lower-limb anatomy and biomechanics, assess your gait and specialize in making custom foot orthotics and modified footwear.

When it comes to foot orthotics, there are two main functions. The first helps to decrease excess motion in an over-pronated foot, often called a flat foot. The second, most commonly used with high rigid arches, provides equal weight distribution and shock absorption.

Foot orthotics come in all shapes and sizes, and are made from a variety of materials, from plastic to EVA foam to graphite. While any foot type can benefit from an orthotic, not every foot will need one. An appointment with a Canadian Certified Pedorthist is the easiest way to assess your challenges. Used in conjunction with

appropriate footwear,
a foot orthotic can be

effective in helping to

treat pain problems in: Heel, Arch, Forefoot, Shin splints and Knees.

Foot orthotics can also help address foot and lower limb pain and complications related to health conditions such as diabetes and arthritis.

"Nobody makes orthotics quite like we do," says Andrea Richard, Kinesiologist and Canadian Certified Pedorthist C. Ped (C), "Over my 30 years as a pedorthist we have a fine-tuned a process for creating a 3 dimensional weight bearing plaster cast of your foot as it truly touches the ground while you are standing. When it comes to accuracy and optimal results we see less need for fine tuning adjustments and most importantly, greater sustained relief of pain!"
