Lab Technician

 

Bedford Orthotics has been creating top quality handcrafted foot orthotics for the past 24 years. We believe that our patients do not need to suffer from foot, leg, hip, back and joint pain related to their feet. We are now growing our happy feet team in Bedford, by seeking new full or part-time Orthotics Lab Technicians, to keep up with demand. 

 

If you have an interest in a health-related field, you like working in a laboratory setting, and you enjoy working independently this job may be for you. Our Orthotics Lab Technicians receive 

apprenticeship training and hands-on experience with the entire process of orthotics fabrication and orthopaedic footwear modification.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

- tracking order forms

- preparing plaster molds

- thermal forming and gluing of raw materials

- grinding orthotics to specifications

- ensuring patient confidentiality

- maintaining workplace cleanliness

- adhering to all safety standards and procedures

 

Qualifications

HIgh school completion

Ability to work independently

Ability to meet deadlines 

Competence and skill using tools and machinery

Ability to work with your hands

Able to contribute to a team environment

 

Language skills

Full fluency in English not required

 

Assets (not required but helpful)

Experience with manufacturing orthotics/prosthetics

General experience in another health care field

Located on major (Bedford Highway) transit routes

Starting salary $40,000 (Reviewed annually)

Two weeks paid vacation

Team lunch on your birthday
